The long wait for the remake of Final Fantasy VII is finally starting to see some traction for fans of the series. Square Enix have put out a recruitment page for Business Division 1, the Japanese studio for Square Enix lead by producer Yoshinori Kitase.
In the recruitment page, Kitase talks about the original FFVII’s success and how they are working to exceed the quality of the original in the remake. He also talks about the return of many of the original staff. Kitase reveals that in addition to director Tetsuya Nomura and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, many other staff who worked on the original Final Fantasy VII are returning to work on the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
This is an exciting bit of news for many gaming fans as the original game is something of a cult masterpiece to gamers. It’s also hard to forget the impact that the studio’s stunning tech demo for the game, shown at E3 2005 and directed by Motomu Toriyama himself, had on fans either.
At the moment they’re hiring planners, designers and a programmer for the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Despite previously hiring people into various roles, this is the first time BD1 has ever had a dedicated recruitment page. With things finally rolling in the right direction for the FFVII Remake it should only be a matter of time before we start seeing trailers and gameplay!
