Super Smash Flash 2 is a fan made recreation of the Super Smash Bros. series that has been in development for quite some time now. In a surprising move, developer McLeod Gaming announced out of nowhere this morning that the game is now released.
Super Smash Flash 2 is a surprisingly faithful recreation of the Smash Bros. series. It has been described as a bit of a Frankenstein’s Monster of video games, in that it takes from all game’s within the Smash Bros. series rather than emulating one. Check out the launch trailer below.

For those wondering, the game doesn’t have official Nintendo support. How it made it so far through development to reach the point we are at now I don’t know. And what the future fate of the game will be is also unknown. However, for now, Super Smash Flash 2 is available to download and play for PC, Mac and Linux.
