While Death Stranding remains a mystery to us all, Metal Gear creator, Hideo Kojima, has graced the Tribeca Games Festival with his presence to give an update on his upcoming title.
Not a lot of detail was revealed, however Kojima confirmed that Kojima Productions has been working with its new Decima Engine to create the game. He also hinted that the game may still be in its early developmental stage.
“We are continuously doing different tests for game systems, for characters, for environments. We are continually testing these aspects. So far, it’s going pretty well.”
Kojima also provided an explanation as to why Norman Reedus was naked in Death Stranding’s announcement trailer:
“Having Norman Reedus naked in the Death Stranding reveal trailer is something I very specifically had in mind–I wanted people to see first a naked Norman. And then from there, you will be able to see him in different costumes, in different hairstyles, different equipment–and that’s as much as I should say today.”
Although the news wasn’t as much as we wanted to completely satisfy our understanding, this is definitely an indication that the game is still in early stages and we may not see Death Stranding for another year or so.
Death Stranding is intended to release for the PS4,but we may also see the game come to PC. Alongside Norman Reedus It will feature Hannibal actor, Mads Mikkelsen, as what seems to be the main villain of the game. Film director Guillermo del Toro is also on board, helping Kojima Productions with the story progression and direction.
