Acclaimed 2015 indie darling Papers, Please is being turned into a short film. Today, solo developer Lucas Pope took to Twitter to announce an upcoming short film based on the game. Papers, Please has the player take the role of a faceless border crossing immigration officer in the fictional dystopian Arstotzka. You battle with remaining loyal to your country or acting on your moral urges throughout your day to day work.

Although not much information was revealed, Pope did share several production images, as well as announced the filmmakers behind the project, going by the names of Nikita and Liliya Ordynskiy.
Papers, Please is a fine example for ‘games as art’, and Pope seems excited for the movie, so we will have to wait and see what comes of it.
