Pokémon Go update has players hunting for fossils

Posted on May 17, 2017

A new update comes to Pokémon Go and it’s time for the Rock Pokémon to shine! Dubbed “Adventure Week” by developers Niantic, the update encourages players to get out n’ about and dig for Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl and other uncommon, fossil-based Pokémon.

Other rock favourites like Onix and Sudowoodo will also be more common to encounter.

The Entire event runs for a full 7 days starting at 6AM on May 18 for us Aussies (AEST). So you have an entire week to build up your rock Pokémon collection!

As part of the event, Pokéstops will also be loaded with extra goodies to assist you, and buddy Pokémon will have to travel less distance to find candy. Further to this, if you log in to the game any time during the event you’ll be rewarded with a commemorative Adventurer’s Hat.
