It’s time for a Catventure!
Cat Quest is an upcoming indie title from developer The GentleBros. It is an open-world, 2D RPG set in the land of Felingard, where everything is about cats.
You are Dragonblood, a long-lost race of dragon slayers, and a cat (it is a cat-themed game if you haven’t guessed). You must embark (um, em-meow?) on a quest to rescue your kidnapped (err, catnapped?) sister and save the world from the evil feline Drakoth. You are not alone in your quest and you are joined by Spirry, your guardian spirit.
The developers have described Cat Quest as heavily inspired by games such as the Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Skyrim. Although, I am guessing most RPGs are inspired by at least one of these classic games. It will be interesting to see if they can pull off enough cat puns whilst keeping up the cuteness factor and giving an enjoyable open-world RPG experience.
Cat Quest is due for release for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android sometime this year.
One question though… do you start the game with nine lives?
