After Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind changed childhoods across the world back in 1993 on the Super Nintendo, the bobcat is back in a new adventure launching September this year on PS4 and PC… Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back.
“Bubsy must use all of his classic moves and a few new ones to dodge and out bobcat a battalion of Woolies, not mention the gnarliest UFO bosses to ever grace a Bubsy adventure.”
The game also promises 100 new one liners, which will make fans very happy (and everybody else very annoyed). Check out the trailer!
I’m not ashamed to admit that I actually freakin’ loved Bubsy when I was young, which included watching dumb school kids playing it on the classic Aussie kids TV show, Amazing!
While Bubsy 3D was an absolute failure in 1996, it looks like The Woolies Strike Back is returning to the side-scrolling formula that made the platformer so fun to begin with. Whether it turns out to be any good or not is another question, but I’m willing to give Bubsy the benefit of the doubt, purely for nostalgia purposes.
