EA has spent months making sure everyone knew about their 40 player, 30 minute stream for their upcoming release, Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Bringing streamers from around the world, including Australia’s own Muselk who took MVP, we got a frantic look at the heated battle between the droid Separatist forces and the Clone troopers. Set in the beautiful sprawling city of Theed on Naboo, we got to see lots of action from both ground troops and the sky battles.
Battlefront 2’s multiplayer will be taking settings, troops, and heroes from across the entire saga to create a mix for some epic moments — one exciting moment sees Darth Maul and Boba Fett fling themselves into a horde of Clone troopers. Unfortunately, EA may have overestimated the prowess of half of the streamers as the Separatist forces quickly brought the pain to their enemies and wrapped everything up in 17 minutes.
In a move that has us asking “what have you done with the real EA?”, maps and characters will be added to multiplayer this year for free. Characters that we know are being added later this year include new trilogy protagonist, Finn, and his ex-boss, Captain Phasma.
If you’re looking for some solo play, fret not. The new single player campaign will follow a female solider of the Empire as she looks to break the Rebel forces in the events between Return of the Jedi and the Force Awakens. It’s a great idea if you ask me as it’s a story we never get to hear and it is a solid commitment to a female protagonist who is essentially a villain.
Battlefront 2 will be out on PS4, XboxOne and PC this year on November 17th. Be sure to check out the full 17 minute stream below from streamer StoneMountain64.
