Fans of H.P. Lovecraft’s 1926 novel Call of Cthulhu have likely delved into the tabletop gaming world to play the role-playing game of the same name first released in 1981. Now in its 7th edition, the tabletop version of Call of Cthulhu has seen many expansions on Lovecrafts’s original tale taking many interesting twists and turns.
Now in another new interesting twist, Cyanide Studios released a trailer this week for their new game Call of Cthulhu, taking this tabletop classic into the digital realm.
The game trailer is a perfect example of the world in which these games are so famous for and has me itching to see how Cyanide Studios have handled the transition of the board games SAN (sanity points) system. Whilst there isn’t a lot of gameplay on show one thing that is clear is this will be from a first person perspective, which will surely add to the depth players will feel.
Call of Cthulhu doesn’t yet have a set release date but will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2017.
