E3 2017: PlayStation 4 sales reach over 60 million units

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced new sales milestones for PlayStation 4 and its software titles.

As of June 11th PS4 has cumulatively sold more than 60.4 million units to consumers worldwide. Software sales, led by titles such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, also remain strong with more than 487.8 million copies stold globally through retail stores and through digital downloads on PlayStation Store.

Building off of this momentum, user engagement across the PlayStation ecosystem has also experienced growth.

  • PlayStation ecosystem has more than 70 million monthly active users worldwide as of the end of March 2017.
  • PlayStation Plus has 26.4 million paid subscribers as of the end of March 2017
  • Active PS4 users spend more than 600 million hours in total, per week on the platform as of the end of March 2017.

PS4’s portfolio of software titles will continue to expand this year, with titles such as Destiny 2, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Gran Turismo Sport, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The independent developer community will continue to deliver innovative new titles for the PS4 such as Pyre and Absolver.

Sony Interactive Entertainment will continue to expand the world of PS4 to deliver entertainment experiences that are only available on PlayStation.
