During their E3 press conference Nintendo confirmed that Super Mario Odyssey will be released for the Nintendo Switch on October 27.
Originally announced in January, Super Mario Odyssey will focus on exploration with a sand box approach, mixing 3D Super Mario with 2D sections of gameplay. The video released today demonstrates some of the new environments players will be able to experience that include cities, a desert and a prehistoric setting complete with a surprisingly normal looking dinosaur.
Super Mario Odyssey is certainly shaping up to be the biggest game released on Switch since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And could be a system seller.
Super Mario Odyssey releases on October 27 for the Switch.
