With Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’s release date looming just over the horizon, any new content showcasing this wickedly dark game is welcome. Those anticipating the game’s release, myself included, are keen to sink our teeth into this dark game and dive into the shattered psyche of Senua’s mind to find a way out. Ninja Theory has released a new trailer simply called ‘Hela’ which does quite the job of keeping viewers engrossed with the progression of this highly anticipated game.

Starting out with a sombre voice-over claiming that hell is reaching deep inside of her; Senua draws her weapon but is unable to determine what or where her enemy is. The voices in her head along with the voice-over help cast a dark atmosphere upon the trailer, and once the object of her apprehension appears, it’s no longer clear what Senua can do to stop it.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is set for release on the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows on August 8 2017. It is a story based on Celtic and Norse mythology, and will focus on the personal journey of Senua as she attempts to navigate her way through a hellish underworld manifested from her own psychotic instability.
