During Nintendo’s Pokémon Direct event, a backwards compatible virtual version of Pokémon Gold and Silver were announced to be releasing on Nintendo 2DS & 3DS. The expected date for these two beloved game versions is September 22 2017, the same date as the release of the Nintendo Switch version of Pokkén Tournament DX.
The New versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver will be available to play via the eShop and all Pokémon caught in these versions of the game will be compatible with the Pokémon Bank. For many old school fans this is exciting news especially for those keen to go back and collect a Red Gyarados for their current versions. I know this will be high on my priority list!
