Blizzard’s golden child Overwatch can’t seem to take a wrong step in the gaming world. Its simplistic yet beautiful game design and format has millions of gamers (like myself) hooked and it grows from strength to strength with every new step it takes. So when Overwatch took that step into the world of competitive eSports it didn’t just creep in, it smashed its way in like Reinhardt with a hammer at last year’s 2016 Blizzcon and it’s dominated ever since!
Whilst Overwatch features in other eSports arenas, this will be the game’s second ever Overwatch World Cup. With contestants already skirmishing in hopes of making their way to the final stage at Blizzcon for the epic showdown, things are definitely in full swing. Our fan committee have chosen team Blank Esports to represent Australia and they are currently sitting in 13th position on the Overwatch World Cup ladder.
The Overwatch World Cup 2017 Sydney Group Stage is running from the 21st to the 23rd July 2017 at The Star Event Centre, NSW and will feature action from groups C and D of the World Cup event.
Group C Group D
4 – Sweden 5 – Finland

Presented by Blizzard Entertainment and ESL it’s time to get hyped Australia! Now that the 2017 Overwatch World Cup’s national committees have carefully crafted their teams, it’s time to begin the battle for glory. Sydney will play host to the second of four live Group Stage qualifier events getting a front row seat to all the action.
