A new trailer for Nintendo’s upcoming game Fire Emblem Warriors was recently released, reintroducing us to a few familiar faces, including Lucina, Lissa, Frederick and the male Robin. The trailer showcases the vibrant art style that you’d expect from a Fire Emblem game.
Fire Emblem Warriors is being developed by Omega Force and Ninja Team, the same teams who worked on Hyrule Warriors, so it’s safe to say we can probably expect great success from this game’s release.
The new trailer showcases the beginning of the story as Chrom and his companions are joined by two young royals who seek the aid of others to save their kingdom. While no battle footage is shown, we are treated to a quick view of some playable characters including the future warrior Lucina, magic wielding Robin, and axe swinging Lissa. We are also shown a snippet of the story within the game, which seems simple enough to follow.
The story of Fire Emblem Warriors follows the tale of royal twins Rowan and Lianna, as they embark upon a journey to save their country. They seek to restore light to the country of Aytolis, after the Gates of the Other World suddenly appeared in the royal castle, releasing countless monsters, and obliterating its garrison. Soon after the fall of the kingdom, the entire country befell to the same fate, however there is hope as the twins seek to reclaim their homeland using the Fire Shield. Throughout their journey they’ll come across legendary heroes such as Marth and Corrine to aid them in their quest.
Fire Emblem Warriors is due for release in the Spring of 2017, with no official release date announced for the western world just yet, and will be available on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS.
