‘Infinite’ evil as Sonic Forces reveals new villain

Posted on July 21, 2017

Move aside Shadow, there’s a new badass in town and his name is Infinite! The latest double release trailer for SEGA’s Sonic Forces, has shown off a new villain, and his theme song, which features Andy Bane and Tyler Smith from the band Dangerkids. Shrouded in mystery, this guy is not looking to play around with our heroes, and the thing is, he’s even faster than Sonic! *gasp*

The trailer starts with Infinite’s theme song and glimpses of his involvement in the game before showing of a scene in which Sonic is completely outclassed. It would appear that Eggman (Dr Robotinic), and Shadow are also working in conjunction with this new supersonic threat, but in what measure still it’s still unclear. Oozing an ominous aura, Infinite proceeds to antagonise Sonic before declaring that the “blue saviour’s” existence will end in a brief moment..

Working in conjunction with Dangerkids’ band members Andy and Tyler, Infinites theme song is an impressive mix of electro-funk and rock metal. After giving it a proper listen you can really feel the angst and tension the game was looking to convey, and I can only hope that the rest of the gaming soundtrack will receive just as much love and attention as this.
