Survive or Die in The Evil Within 2

Posted on July 21, 2017

Following on from the official E3 reveal, the latest story trailer for Bethesda’s The Evil Within 2  has been released, and it’s looking gruesomely epic! Following on from Sebastian Castellanos’ story, viewers are treated to several gory creatures to cringe at along with more story details. Being a huge fan of this spiritual successor to The Resident Evil series, I am pleased to say that The Evil Within 2′ “Survive” trailer has me both cheering and cowering at the same time.

The trailer is slightly unclear on determining how much time has passed for Sebastian since the last time we saw him, and the details on his circumstance is even murkier still. The trailer shows him grappling with past memories of his lost family and the guilt he possesses for not being there when they needed him. Disembodied voices of his deceased daughter torment him, claiming that ‘it’s all his fault”, “that he is a failure”, and “that he closed his eyes to the truth”.

Make sure to stay hidden in Evil Within 2

Throughout this mysterious trailer we see Sebastian take out one grotesque creature after another, erratically ambling through another nightmarish realm. It would appear that he is on the search for Ruvik Victoriano, the main antagonist of the last Evil Within who managed to escape the last time the two faced off. The question is: Can he do it before more innocent blood is spilled, and who is this girl that Sebastian is trying to save?

What fresh hell is this thing in Evil Within 2?

The Evil Within 2 has a lot to live up to after its success with the first game and will certainly be one to keep an eye out on if you consider yourself a horror gaming fan. Developed by Bethesda Softworks, The Evil Within 2 is set for release on October Friday the 13th (spookily appropriate) for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
