Androids 16, 17, and 18 are all making appearances in the newest Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer, shown at Gamescom. Showing off not only the raw power of 16 and the deadly grace of 18, but also battle footage of two previously announced characters, Piccolo and Krillin. This trailer is action packed and positively dripping with anime goodness!
The trailer shows us a montage of previously announced fighters and they all look badass, I can’t wait to main as Gohan and Vegeta! But this time around we get to see the fighting style of Krillin and Piccolo, who are both integral members of the Z Fighters. Piccolo appears to have a great long range advantage, with his ability to stretch his upper limbs to battle, as well execute some of signature attacks including Special Beam Cannon, and Masenko. Krillin, not to be outdone, executes fast combos and employs moves such as Destructo Disk and Double Tsuihikidan.
Next we get to see 18 dance on stage, mercilessly beating on 16 while calling on the aid of 17 during a combo. Android 16 is very much a powerhouse fighter, using his considerable size to destroy his enemy, the downside to this is his speed seems to be lacking a bit. While the trailer showcases both 16 and 18 prominently, the same can’t be said for Android 17, 18’s twin and one of the more popular villains of the series (and heroes in Super). It would appear that 17 is purely a support character that 18 uses when she performs certain combo attacks on enemies.
We are also treated to Dragon Ball FighterZ’s story mode. Shown briefly is a slew of identical copies of Goku, Vegeta, and co. converging on a desolate city area. Not much else is noted, but it would appear that none of our heroes will be able to beat this threat alone. Dragon Ball FighterZ is set for release in 2018, this coming February, and will be available on the PlayStation4, Xbox One and PC.
