Hidetaka Suehiro otherwise known as “SWERY” is at it again and is bringing us another delightfully weird and wonderful sounding game to sink our fangs into. The Good Life is Hidetaka’s latest offering and according to the man himself is a “daily life RPG” set in the rural UK village aptly named “Rainy Woods” (which was the working title to SWERY’s Deadly Premonition in the early 2000’s). Naomi, a struggling New York photographer, is there trying to pay off her debts when she discovers that the town has a very bizarre secret. It’s populated by oddly happy folk who keep turning into cats at night! Basically to me this sounds like the most purrfect game ever imagined *cue crazy cat lady eyes*.
This is SWERY’s first official announcement since creating his own studio, White Owls, last November and whilst The Good Life is a stark difference to SWERY’s other titles Deadly Premonition and D4, he has said that “This game will inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition, my most representative work, but it will also feature a brand new style of gameplay. It’s a mystery game based on the framework of a ‘daily life RPG.’ I’m positive that the happiest town in the world and the most bizarre townspeople in the world will capture your heart and pull you deep into their world. Please support The Good Life and help us bring this game to life. I’m sure this game will make a lot of people happy! I Love You All!!”
The campaign for The Good Life will go live on September 2nd on crowdfunding platform Fig, and if like me your were completely hooked at the moment you heard “become a cat” then you can head on over here to sign up to be a part of this awesome campaign.
