Get out your tools and prepare to get building once again as Square Enix has just announced the impending release of Dragon Quest Builders 2! The sequel will be available for play on both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, which is exciting news considering its predecessor was a PlayStation exclusive release. A video of the livestream that revealed the game can be seen below. With nearly 3 minutes minutes of gameplay revealed, it would appear that some new mechanics have been added to game.

In the start we see players explore the world gathering materials and mining the area with two other companions. As the video progresses we see that you can now explore underwater, something unavailable to you in the previous game.  Other new additions to the game include the option to create sloped surfaces, waterfalls, and most impressively the ability to traverse the world map using a paraglider! It has also been mentioned that Dragon Quest Builders 2 will include co-op play with up to four players, something the original game was sorely missing.

A New World Awaits in Dragon Quest Builders 2

The popular role playing franchise certainly opened up a world of endless possibilities with its original Minecraft-like game, so it’s more than likely that the sequel will do just the same. While there has been no official release date announced yet, it has been confirmed Dragon Quest Builders 2 will at least be coming out on the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.
