Since the E3 announcement of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Nintendo have been a bit quiet about this extension of the Pokémon Sun and Moon story lines. Now Nintendo have broken their silence in what will be the first of many teasers before these titles are released on 17 November 2017.
Continuing the story from the end of the current Sun and Moon games which focused upon the legendary Solgaleo and Lunala, Ultra Sun and Moon will explore the secrets of Necrozma and a new Z-Power Ring (which will also be available to buy as a real toy for those included). Necrozma, for those who haven’t played Sun and Moon, is a psychic legendary Pokémon in Hawaii-inspired Alola who uses light as its energy source.
As expected, there will also be many new Z moves and evolutions which include Rockruff’s special evolution form: Lycanroc (Dusk Form). However, only certain types of Rockruff can evolve to this form (insert dramatic music here).
A feature missing from Sun and Moon was the ability to customise the look of your character. In Ultra Sun and Moon, a variety of customisations are now possible, and there is a good reason to look good – there will also be a photo mode!
You can pose with your favourite Pokémon (or least favourite, we won’t judge) and you can gain additional prop items depending upon your Pokémon. You will even be able to take snaps of your pocket monster while it is evolving! I hope they consent first.
Nintendo have also announced that upon the games’ release there will be a special Ultra Dual edition, which contains both Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games. Perfect for those wishing to obtain all possible Pokémon, and great for people like me with a niece and nephew obsessed with these titles. I am just obsessed for their sake, I swear.
