Ubisoft has just announced that their upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Origins will feature an innovative new game mode known as Assassin’s Creed Origins Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt.
From the beginning of the franchise the exploration of pivotal and key historical moments has always been an important part of the Assassin’s Creed experience. From the Third Crusade to the Italian Renaissance, this is one franchise that is as much history lesson as it is video game. So it’s clear to see why Ubisoft have taken this next step in creating the Assassin’s Creed Origins Discovery Tour.
The Discovery Tour will be a dedicated mode absent of combat allowing players to explore and free roam the entire interactive 3D recreation of Ancient Egypt. There will be dozens of guided tours led by Egyptologists and historians for players to enjoy and learn from as they travel around the games open world. Being free from combat means players will be able to explore this open world at their own pace, visiting locations like Alexandria and the Giza Plateau. Players will also be given the chance to learn about many things such as Cleopatra and mummification.

Jean Guesdon, creative director of Assassin’s Creed Origins said “It’s a dream come true for us to offer Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt, an educational mode built specifically for people to learn more about the incredible history of Ancient Egypt through the interactive experience made possible via a video game.”
Assassin’s Creed Origins will be available on October 27, 2017 whilst the Assassin’s Creed Origins Discovery Tour update will arrive early 2018 for PS4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
