There aren’t many organisations within the gaming industry that I would describe as altruistic. The type of organisation that doesn’t take a wrong step, always looks to do the right thing and is always looked at in a positive light. But Humble Bundle definitely fits that description.
Since Humble Bundle begun back in 2010 as a platform that allowed you to “pay what you want” for a set of amazing independent games, they have done nothing but grow and expand. Humble did everything right by giving a portion of all purchases to charity, supporting indie developers who desperately need it, supporting DRM free practices that were fantastic for the gamer, and allowing the freedom for the purchaser to not only set their price but also set the split between developer / charity / Humble. Since their humble beginnings, Humble Bundle have now expanded into a game’s publisher and digital storefront with constant deals and bundles. They even ran a Humble Freedom Bundle where 100% of all proceeds went to charity.
Today it has been revealed that Humble has managed to hit a pretty substantial milestone. The amazing company has now managed to raise $100,000,000 (US $100 million) for charity.
I can’t wait to see where Humble goes from here.
