A new cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Origins has just been released revealing the game’s mysterious new antagonists – The Order of the Ancients. They are a mysterious organisation that operates within the shadows of Egypt, controlling those in power to achieve their own ends. The trailer itself is simply stunning, showing off both cinematic cut scenes as well as snippets of story footage, making it very hard to pull your eyes away from the events unfolding on the screen.
Throughout the trailer we are shown The Order of the Ancients’ destructive influence over Egypt and Bayek’s plight, as he attempts to stop their nefarious plans. Numerous locales are shown in the trailer, including vast deserts, blazing battlegrounds, and even a colosseum suggesting that this upcoming game will certainly be a large scale expedition for those keen to play. Unfortunately not a whole lot more in terms of story has been revealed in the trailer, and with just over a month to go it seems like the only way to find out more will be to get the game upon its arrival.
Personally, I’ve not played an Assassins Creed since Black Flag, after which the games begun feeling too similar and ‘mass produced’ for my liking. However this latest trailer certainly has me actually contemplating picking up Assassin’s Creed Origins upon release. Set for a worldwide release on the 27th of October this year to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Assassin’s Creed: Origins is certainly looking to be a game for both new players and fans alike.
