The Tokyo Game Show isn’t pulling any punches this year, with a plethora of juicy trailers packed full of cinematic beauty – one such trailer that has me hyped is Shadow of the Colossus.
Unfortunately no actual gameplay was shown in this short cinematic trailer, however viewers were treated to wonderfully rendered scenes of a few Colossi found within the game; the updated graphic overhaul, I’m pleased to say, looks breathtaking.
It’s been 12 years, and two console generations since Shadow of the Colossus was originally released on the PlayStation 2, and a lot in the way of gaming technology has progressed. It’s certainly apparent, early on, that this remake has been lovingly handled when sweeping images of the landscape are sharp and detailed.
The Colossi themselves look stunning, and really give off a sense of grandiose splendour. While no established release date has been announced as of yet, the Shadow of the Colossus is due for release in 2018 on to the PS4.
Having ever only heard goods things about Shadow of the Colossus, I believe it’s high time I get around to actually playing it, and what better excuse is there to do this than a remake coming next year? Are you excited to get your hands on this new remake? Sound off and tell what it is you want to see in this new rendition of one of Sony’s most beloved action adventure classics.
