Blizzcon 2017 schedule is now live with a plethora of events

Posted on October 5, 2017

Blizzcon is upon us again this year, and as many of you know every year is bigger and better than the last.

This year, however, it looks as though Blizzard will be pushing their eSports scene even more than last year, with full days dedicated to their PVP  tournaments for  Starcraft 2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch. Interestingly so, there seems to be no mention of an opening Ceremony on the first day, and much of the calendar is filled with eSport, which is an interesting approach given Blizzcon used to be more about game announcements and the upcoming road map for releases rather than the competitive scenes that arise in their most popular games.

That being said, it leaves two very tiny blocks dedicated to Diablo 3 which are live talks with the game creators. That’s not to say you should expect any Diablo related announcements this year; on the Battle.net forums, Blizzard said “There will be a time for that at some point in the future, but that time is not now.”

For those disinterested in eSports, there are  blocks of time scheduled  for creative talks about the music and art behind Blizzards games also. For more details on the range of events scheduled at Blizzcon 2017 check out the schedule here.

Virtual tickets are available again this year for fans who cant make the event. There’s also art contests, movie contests and talent contests advertised as being part of the event too . For more details about what’s on at Blizzcon 2017 you can go to the main event page here.
