Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth 2 announces western release date

Posted on October 25, 2017

Bandai Namco have been relatively quiet regarding their next Digimon game, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hackers Memory. So its come as a pleasant surprise to be given a brand new trailer and western release date. For those who aren’t familiar with the series, Cyber Sleuth is a spin off tale within the Digimon universe that follows the tales of Keisuke Amazawa as he attempts to clear his name, having been falsely accused of a crime he did not commit.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hackers Memory looks stunning, showing off a montage of the possible 320 Digimon partners players will be able to obtain within the game. We are also shown more footage of the game’s side-characters including Erika Mishima, Ryuji Mishima, and Chitose Imai, sadly not much more about them is revealed. The trailer also shows Keisuke exploring numerous different locals with his Digimon partners as well as witnessing malevolent looking Digimon invading not-too-distant future Shibuya. It’s a very stylish looking trailer and does well to build hype for the game at the end treating us with a release date.

Seeing as how Japan will be receiving the game on December 14, 2017, a western release date of January 19, 2018 is quite impressive and will lessen the likelihood of spoilers ruining the game. I am certainly looking forward to playing Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hackers Memory when it arrives early next year on the PlayStation 4, and PS Vita.
