Inception meets Fight Club meets John Wick when Past Cure launches 2018

Past Cure, the new action stealth title from indie developer Phantom 8 has an announcement trailer and release date of Feb 2nd 2018.

Touted as a dark psychologic thriller, it tells the story of Ian, a tormented man trying to recover his lost identity.  After years of torture in dark prisons across Europe, an elite soldier sets out on a mission of revenge and discovery. The story twists between dreams and reality with survival and puzzle gameplay, sort of an Inception meets Fight Club meets John WIck concept.

The game will be played from third person perspective and will feature a mix of stealth, combat and puzzle sequences. The dream sequences are expected to bring some survival horror to the experience.

This will be the first title from Phantom 8 Studio, formed in Berlin in 2016. They are using the latest in 3D scan and motion capture technology partnering with tech providers such as 3Lateral, Cubic Motion and Metric Minds to bring their vision to life. Their stated purpose is to bring high quality thrilling games to the masses at a reasonable price point.

Judging from the announcement trailer below, the title is certainly appearing to be one to keep an eye on.

Past Cure will launch on Feb 2nd 2018 and will be available for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Steam. The console versions will get physical releases for those of us that still like to buy games in a box!
