After a few quiet years and a long wait since Infamous: Second Son, Sucker Punch have announced their newest title: Ghost of Tsushima. The debut trailer was shown during Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference, and is embedded below for you to check out.
The trailer depicts a gorgeous visual style deeply rooted in Japanese culture. We see samurai warriors, peasant villages, and some native flora and fauna whilst a wizened voice narrates over the visuals. Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world action game set during the feudal period of Japan, as the Mongol empire invades the island of Tsushima.
As one of the last samurai warriors, the player will fight back against this invading force to save their people. Sony and Sucker Punch have said that “you must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting — the way of the Ghost — as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.”
There is no release window slated for Ghost of Tsushima, but we do have PSX coming up so perhaps there will be some news then!
