It is time to play with clay again in Claybook

Claybook, a game based in a world made of clay, is now available on Steam Early Access.  This novel game is currently under development by Finnish indie studio Second Order.

Claymation stop motion animation is still a prominent feature in popular culture, and although not as popular as it used to be, claymation periodically appears in the video world with notable titles such as Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and one of my favourite fighting series, Clayfighter.  Claybook is different in that all aspects of the environment can be carved up and sculpted.

In Claybook you not only control a blob of clay capable of changing into different forms, but you can change the environment around you as well to complete challenges.  I guess you can call this a ‘clay-box’ game.

As much as it is the premise of the game, Claybook itself is very much still in development, and being Early Access means you can play an important part in sculpting this game.  Subscribers will be able to access new features and content, and in turn can provide feedback and suggestions. As a concept this game pretty much has unlimited potential and it would be great to see this develop into a solid title.  Well as solid as clay can get.
