Dragon Ball FighterZ gets three new combatants

Posted on November 17, 2017

The battle roster of Dragon Ball FighterZ just keeps expanding, with three new signature fighters announced in V-Jump’s latest release. First off we’re getting the super powered, super bratty, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, a fusion of Kid Trunks and Gotenks in their most powerful state. Next up is one my personal favourites, Adult Gohan who is sporting his mystic form, a power level beyond that of his Super Saiyan 2 state. Lastly, but not surprisingly, Kid Buu has finally been announced; this pink little terror was by far one of  Z Fighter’s greatest enemies to date.

Now while there is no official video out yet for the three fighters mention above, the translated page from V-Jump has given a brief rundown on each of the character’s move sets. Gotenks will fight using a number of his more eccentric attacks including the Super Ghost Kamikazee attack and Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleybal, with Piccolo assisting. Kid Buu will apparently be a tricky fighter to deal with thanks, in large, to his rubbery body and will be able to unleash his ultimate move the Planet Burst attack. Adult Gohan will of course receive the Ultimate Kamehameha as one his specials, but his other unique skill will be the ability to unlock his ‘potential’ depending on the amount of ki in his gauge.

V-Jump also revealed some additional details involving Dragon Ball FighterZ’s in game shop and arcade mode. Players will be able to use the Zeni (currency within the Dragon Ball universe) they accrue to purchase different colour palates for the fighters, as well as titles. Arcade mode will pit players against a predetermined number of enemies, with the progress through the battles changing depending on whether they win or lose.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is certainly one game I am charged up and ready to tackle head on, especially after playing its Beta earlier in the year. On top of the multitude of already announced characters, Dragon Ball FighterZ will also offer season pass holders an additional 8 DLC fighters, currently unannounced. Set for a worldwide release on the 26th of January 2018 for PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC, this is going to be one insane battle-royale of a game and certainly one for the fans of the popular anime series!
