One of the biggest surprises of 2017 was the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and the insane following the game received soon thereafter. PUBG has been a massive success story, despite any controversy it may have created, with over 10 million copies sold despite being an Early Access title and despite only existing on the PC.
Well it won’t be too long before the game is no longer an exclusive and moves on over to the Xbox One. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will launch on the Xbox One on December 12th this year. The game will remain as an Early Access title as part of Microsoft’s Game Preview program.

The devs of PUBG have also stated that they are on track to release their 1.0 version of the game on the PC this December, moving it out of an Early Access state and into a finished product. Personally, I don’t think we are going to see PUBG suddenly turn into a bug free and stable gaming experience, so the 1.0 label won’t mean too much here. What we do know however is that the developers intend to work on the two game versions (Xbox One and PC) separately with two different road-maps laid out for their development. At this point we don’t know when the Xbox version will reach a 1.0 state.
