If you’re still unsure about getting stuck into one of 2017’s best shooters, Bungie has revealed that you can now download Destiny 2 and try the game out for free before purchasing.
The free trial allows you to experience the beginning of Destiny 2’s campaign, as well as the game’s competitive multiplayer. All progress made from the trial will carry over if you then choose to purchase the full game.
Given the title launched nearly three months ago, this is a smart move from Bungie; the original Destiny benefited in a massive way from the open beta that took place before launch, allowing players to get stuck into the MMO FPS loot-addicting franchise and see what it’s all about.
The trial will include two of the game’s destinations: the European Dead Zone (EDZ) on Earth and the moon Titan. Players will also be able to visit the Farm social space and take part in Crucible matches. You’ll be able to progress all the way to Level 7 before being prompted to purchase. With the first major expansion Curse of Osiris launching on December 5th, this could indeed be the perfect time to jump in.
The Destiny 2 free trial will be available later today on Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Battle.net. So after you’ve read our extensive review of the title, why not give it a go?
