The need for story and game lore seems to be high on the list of requirements for gamers these days. For example, when Overwatch originally released, it released with a series of webcomics and cinematics which provided more immersive details into the lives of the characters that you would be matched up against throughout the game. Bungie has taken note of this and released their first of potentially many free web comics for their game Destiny. The first of the series focuses on the character Osiris and follows the Vangaurd commander and champion of the last city on his path to becoming a known traitor.
Margaret Stohl, Destiny 2 Narrative Director who also currently writes Marvel’s The Mighty Captain Marvel states:
“Destiny’s first-ever original comic short is written by Eisner-winning, New York Times bestselling writer Ryan North (Dinosaur Comics, Marvel’s The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) in collaboration with our own super talented Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris narrative lead Christine Thompson, with interior art by Destiny community fan favorite Zé Carlos.
The webcomic is free and available as of today here to read. It’s expected that more webcomics will be released as Destiny 2 progresses through its DLCs.
