Purrfect Date is one of the odder ones, and it’s out now. A mix of visual novel, dating simulator, dark comedy and the TV show Lost – you’re gonna get to date cats. Yup! You’re playing as one of 6 humans, learning about an island run by cats and finding love along the way.
There’s 6 cats to choose from as well, so get ready for some replaying. It’s just launched on Steam with plans for iOS later.
Oliver Hindles, one of the game’s creator says on the launch:
“They said we could make a game about anything. So we made a game about humans dating cats. 10/10, would gamedev again.”
It’s from Bae Team, a two person studio who love cats and YouTube parodies. It’s published by Bossa Studios, who you probably know for ‘I am Bread’ and ‘Surgeon Simulator’. They really do get to make games about anything there, and they usually turn out really well. Creative freedom works!
You can grab it on Steam, and it’s currently on sale. So sit back, relax, and don’t try this at home.
