JRPG fans are often spoilt for choice each year for a plethora of new titles. One of the biggest disappointments for them though is when a new title drops in Japan but doesn’t see a Western release. Last year the JRPG community would have eagerly watched the release of The Lost Child from Takeyasu Sawaki, creator of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. Well fans rejoice as The Lost Child finds its way to our distant shores this year.
Occult journalist, Hayato Ibuki, encounters a strange girl during his investigations into a series of mysterious suicides in Tokyo. She implores that Hayato must live, before bestowing upon him a mystical device that allows him to capture celestial and arcane creatures. He is now thrust into a world beyond our own, home to horrific demons and celestial beings. In it, he must delve into dungeons called Layers and solve the mystery of the device.
Fans of Takeyasu Sawaki’s previous work on El Shaddai might recognise the titular protagonist Enoch making a return in the released footage for The Lost Child. The blond bombshell will be found alongside 50 + unique entities from myth and legend to capture, each with multiple forms to unlock. Spend your time teaching your team over 250 different skills and abilities so that you can test your skills in massive dungeons with over 99 floors of danger.
NIS America are yet to reveal a release date but have let us know that the title will be coming to both PS4 and PS Vita, which is always good to see still getting titles. You can check out the trailer before to see all the excitement The Lost Child has to offer.
