Get ready to cop a hoof to the face because Them’s Fightin’ Herds is releasing this month.
The 2D fighter is being developed by Mane6 and published by Humble Bundle. It features a roster of all-female ponies fighting to find a champion worthy of gaining a magical key that will protect their world from predators. The game is unabashedly cutesy and magical and bears a striking resemblance to My Little Pony. This is no coincidence because the game actually begun as a fan project featuring the My Little Pony roster and was titled Fighting Is Magic. After a cease and desist from Hasbro the project took a slight detour and has become the game we see today.
Don’t let the adorable aesthetic fool you, these ponies mean business. Check out the new trailer below:
When the game releases it will not only feature the standard multiplayer fighting affair but will also have single-player content including challenges available. Expect more updates post launch. To find out more you can find the game on Steam, or hit up the game’s website.
Them’s Fightin’ Herds releases February 22nd (Feb 23 for us Aussies) to the PC. Console releases are a possibility in the future.
