Chronicles of Crime throws players into the role of detective, assigned to investigate heinous crimes in this truly unique and stylised crime investigation VR boardgame which is currently seeking funds via Kickstarter.
This tabletop experience is the brainchild of Lucky Duck Games and incorporates VR and the Mobile App into the gameplay ‘Scan & Play’ technology is integrated by the use of QR codes which are linked to various characters, locations, and pieces of evidence on the game cards. Players must use these cards in conjunction with their smart devices in order to solve the crime as quickly as possible.
The reusable content allows players the freedom to generate and replay the game with many different scenarios. The game also lets you jump right in as the app guides you through the ‘how to play’ accept without the need for an instruction manual. You also have the option to play as a lone wolf or a squad of four.
The VR functionality allows players to move their smartphone around their playing location to search for clues to help solve the crime and the game’s six base scenarios offer a total of 6-8 hours of VR boardgame realness. Future content will be available as separate updates later on.
