State of Decay 2 releasing soon and with low price point

Posted on March 8, 2018

Anticipated zombie survival sequel and Xbox exclusive title State of Decay 2 has been given its official release date of May 22nd.

Following up on the original game which was originally released on the Xbox 360 before being brought over to the Xbox One with the Year-One Survival Edition, the zombie title had humble beginnings but quickly earned itself a lot of fans and critical acclaim by focusing heavily on the survival aspects of the zombie apocalypse, rather than making it into a big silly action movie.

State of Decay 2 has been backed much more heavily by Microsoft, which means a bigger budget and bigger scope, along with the ongoing exclusivity. With a release date now in sight, we can also confirm that the Standard Edition will be available for AUD$49.95, with the Ultimate Edition launching for $69.95. The Ultimate Edition includes 4 days early access beginning on May 18th, along with two add-on packs; the “Independence Pack” and the “Daybreak Pack”. It will also come with a bonus copy of the console version of State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition.

State of Decay 2

Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game,” said Aaron Greenberg, General Manager of Games Marketing at Microsoft.

Whether you play as an Xbox Game Pass member, purchase the Standard Edition for $49.95, or the Ultimate Edition for $69.95 to get early access and additional content, you get a great game and a larger community to play State of Decay 2 with.”

We’re pretty hyped for State of Decay 2, especially if it keeps the same ethos that made the first one so successful, combined with four player co-op. It was recently revealed that you can download it on day one as part of the Xbox Game Pass. Are you excited?
