As well as releasing on Steam and PS4, Dan & Gary Games have announced that their title Super Daryl Deluxe will be hitting the Switch’s eShop. The game is an RPGvania with a brawler combat system, boasting a beautiful and expressive hand-drawn cartoon art style and 15 hours of story.
Water Falls High is a completely normal school. Its classes use multi-dimensional portals that have its students whisked away to alternate worlds so they can learn directly from history. This is all totally normal, we swear. The only thing that’s maybe a little weird is all the missing students and boarded-up classrooms. Oh, and the mysterious new principal that nobody has ever seen.
Daryl Whitelaw is the new kid in town, and he’s here to make friends, become popular, and save all of Water Falls High – in that order. Armed with his trusty self-help book and trendy mullet, he can take down the monsters lurking in the halls using his 45+ unlockable moves. While he’s got combat sorted out, Daryl might need a little help making friends. I mean, just look at him. Luckily, he can pick up sidequests that’ll boost him up the social ladder, netting him sweet new gear and abilities.
Will Daryl be able to save the day, solve the mystery behind a near world-ending incident from 40 years ago, and finally grow a proper moustache?
“Super Daryl Deluxe is a deep, explorative look into the male teenage psyche,” says Gary Porter of Dan & Gary Games. “Nah, just kidding. It is pretty good, though. You should check it out before all your friends so you can tell them how great it is and how you played it before they did and how much better than them you are.”
Daryl will be tagging along uninvited on the Switch’s eShop, as well as PC and PS4, on April 10.
