Guys, hold my Strong Zero and keep my Ramen hot… Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to the west, on PS4, this year! Thanks to a new trailer from Sega’s offical YouTube channel, we now know that the follow up to Yakuza Kiwami is heading to our shores on August 28, 2018. Check out the incredible trailer below.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a remake of the PS2 title Yakuza 2, and continues to follow protagonist Kiryu Kazama’s story, picking up one year after the events of Yakuza 1. The game is being remade in the Dragon Engine, which the upcoming Yakuza 6: The Song of Life was made in. According to Sega, the localization has been updated to give players “the most faithful representation of the original Japanese”.
A new addition in Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a brand new campaign called “The Truth of Goro Majima”, where players will assume the role of Majima and uncover how he became a construction tycoon prior to the events of Yakuza 2. Goro Majima was playable in the PS4 prequel title Yakuza 0.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 will release physically and digitally on August 28, 2018 on PS4.
