Nintendo has suddenly announced a Nintendo Switch port for Klei Entertainments’ Don’t Starve, which will be available with all of its single player DLC. The game is now shown on the Nintendo eShop ready for its release next week.
Don’t Starve is a wilderness survival game with a distinctive hand-drawn art style, which was initially released in 2013. In the game, you play as an intrepid gentleman scientist named Wilson, who has been trapped in a strange wilderness. There, he must learn to exploit the environment, find new allies and survive. As the game’s title implies, trying to stay healthy and sane in the hostile environment, as well as resource management, are big aspects here; the game is not for the faint of heart.
The Nintendo Switch release also comes with the Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked expansions included, which each add new characters, creatures, seasons and locations. It does not, however, come with the Don’t Starve Together multiplayer update; the Nintendo Switch port will be single player only.
Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition will be available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop on April 12 for $25.
