The PS4 exclusive Spider-Man has been given an official release date, with developer Insomniac Games announcing it will be out on 7 September.
Along with the release date, the 30 second trailer also dropped details on the pre-order bonuses – including a Spider punk costume (replete with denim vest and mohawk!) and 2 more mystery costumes, additional in-game content (an unlockable gadget and some skill points), and a PSN Avatar and Theme.
Insomniac further outlined what would be included in the mandatory Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition versions of the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition will provide players with a season pass to the post-launch DLC content, The City That Never Sleeps, which will add 3 new chapters as well as new missions, villains and costumes. The Collector’s Edition will also have the season pass, as well as a steelbook case, artbook, and a yet-to-be-revealed statue.
While there are still no confirmed prices for the Australian versions of the game, EB Games has put a placeholder price of $250 for the Collector’s Edition and a slated price of $120 for the ‘Special Edition’.
In news that will bring relief to all gamers in a post-Battlefront 2 world, the game’s creative director Bryan Ithilar also responded to whether or not the game would include microtransactions with an emphatic “Hell no”.
We’ve been excited about Spider-Man in a massive way since that glorious E3 trailer that finished Sony’s conference last year. How hyped are you to sling some webs?
