Konami has announced that this years installment of their FIFA alternative, Pro Evolution Soccer will be released August 30th imaginatively titled PES 19.
It will arrive for PS4, Xbox One and Steam and feature both digital download and two physical editions with new global ambassador Phillippe Coutinho on the front cover of the standard edition and David Beckham on a special edition which gives fans the opportunity to unlock myClub bonuses.
Although Konami recently lost their UEFA license which unfortunately means no champions league or europa, Konami says Pro Evolution Soccer 19 will have more fully licensed leagues and stadiums, more club licensed partnerships, and a host of new Legends that will be announced shortly.
They emphasise that gameplay will give them the edge this year. Featuring visible fatigue, new shooting mechanics, improved physics and more player skills. Graphically ‘enlighten’ software is touted to make the beautiful game even prettier, featuring 4K HDR, improved in game graphics, crowd detail, grass textures and the return of snow!
Konami have also revamped myClub with a new player card design system and temporary stats boosts for footballers based on their real life counter parts performances on the field. Other cosmetic touches include an updated menu interface to bring fans the latest news about the game itself, special offers and discounts on other products.
There is not a full list of teams, stadiums, leagues or players just yet but details are to be revealed shortly, which is certainly advisable given we are less than 3 months from release. Given that UEFA may be heading in EA’s direction, this years PES may be up for some tough competition. Hopefully the visual flair and emphasis on gameplay rather than license results in a solid soccer game and maybe they can win the trophy back from EA and its FIFA series.
