Nintendo’s new party game Go Vacation has been announced and will be releasing very soon, on July 27th.
Developed by BANDAI NAMCO, Go Vacations follows the tradition of Mii party games and features many different minigames as well as exploration across four different resort areas on Kawawii island on foot, horseback or snowmobile. Minigames include tennis, racing, snowball fights, fishing and skiing with up to 50 games for you to try. Go Vacation also includes local multiplayer, a dying feature for sure, with the ability to play with up to four people on one Switch console, or over local wireless.
Go Vacation is a followup to the 2011 Wii title of the same name that was met with mixed reviews and contained many a reference to Namco properties like Ridge Racer, Dig Dug, Pac-Man, New Rally-X, and Kotoba no Puzzle: Mojipittan, with the game even supporting accessories such as the Wii Zapper, and even the Balance Board, that one Wii-Fit accessory that everyone and their grandmother has under their bed somewhere.
The original iteration of Go Vacation didn’t do all that well, but with a second shot at success, and this time with no pesky Nintendo branded games to get in its way, maybe this version will do a bit better, both critically and commercially.
If you have played and enjoyed something like Wii Sports Resort, then Go Vacation might be right up your alley. Make sure to keep an eye out for the game in July.
