One could be forgiven for thinking this is CES and it’s 1991 as Rash, Zitz and Pimple are back. Yes everyone, Battletoads made a shock appearance this year at E3. Untouched for almost 20 years, a franchise that once hit mulitple platforms and had a failed Saturday morning cartoon is heading our way in 2019.
A franchise from the RARE archives, Battletoads was a response to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles craze and at the time was notable for its extreme difficulty which needed to be toned down for future ports. Whilst there is no gameplay video available for their return, it will feature hand drawn graphics and 3 player on the couch mode. Outside of that, pretty much nothing is known. So for now we will just have to be satisfied with this short groovy trailer.
Battletoads will hit Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2019.
