After a rocky start last year Star Wars Battlefront II left EA on shaky ground with the Star Wars franchise as fans demanded the licence be taken away from them.
You can see this vibe as the DICE representative took to the stage and opened with a fairly humble apology. Thankfully he wasn’t just here with his tail between his legs he also wanted to let us know that the Battlefront II had brand new content on the way. Fans of the series have been asking for some time for more focus on the period of The Clone Wars, well DICE are happy to oblige.
“Your lightsabers will make a fine addition to my collection…”

Heading to the planet of Geonosis we’ll gain some well known faces to the hero roster, General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker will all be available in the coming months. These are some fun additions and I can’t wait to see how General Grievous will play against other heroes.
Thankfully though this wasn’t the only Star Wars announcement that EA had to show. While there was no footage we got to meet with Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn who people will remember the developers behind Titanfall. Zampella was there to let fans know they would be working on a new game in the universe titled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
From @Respawn comes a brand-new action adventure game which tells an original @StarWars story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

Set after the events of the purging of the Jedi order under Order 66 you will play as a young Padawan navigating a very tumultuous time for the Light Side of The Force. The new title will be due for the Holiday Season in 2019 and while it is exciting to see a narrative focused game coming in the near future from such a great studio this does squash any chance of Respawn working on the next instalment for Titanfall, a series that deserves better.
