Ori and the Will of the Wisps gets an awesome new trailer, 2019 release window

Posted on June 11, 2018

Since Ori and the Will of the Wisps was announced at Microsoft’s E3 show last year, we haven’t really heard much more about the game. We’ve finally been provided with more information at Microsoft’s E3 show today, with a gorgeous new gameplay trailer and a rough release window of 2019.

The Will of the Wisps is the anticipated sequel to 2015’s beautiful (and quite challenging) Metroidvania-style platformer Ori and the Blind Forest, and looks like it’ll play very similarly to the first game. The trailer shows off the same beautiful art style, incredible soundtrack and tight, fluid movements that made its predecessor such a hit. It also teases some powerful new skills for the cute guardian spirit, as well as a potential new companion, some varied and gorgeous looking environments, and a few of the big, bad bosses you’ll likely face.

While we still don’t have an official release date yet, we at least now know from the latest trailer that the game will release sometime in 2019. As a massive fan of the original Ori, I absolutely cannot wait for this one.
