If you’ve been staying up to all the wee hours or just forgoing sleep all together then you would already be well aware of all the hot E3 news. For the rest of us out there who might have been lost at sea, just announced in Xbox’s E3 showcase was an exciting message in a bottle for all the pirates still plundering and pillaging. Sea of Thieves will be getting two new expansions coming this year in the form of the Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores.

The announcement trailer shows plenty of exciting things for lovers of the pirate life to get excited about and teases the premise of the new expansions. “Skeleton crews will rise to curse the seas, an ancient evil set loose on the Sea of Thieves.” The Forsaken Shores is “a place of darkness where fire and ash consume all.”

These two new expansions come hot on the heels of The Hungering Deep which saw the release of the jaw dropping Megalodon into the world. A tale told by a bard known as Merrick is now a reality, the Megalodon is not to be taken lightly! The Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores will be both available to play this year with Cursed Sails coming first in July, followed later by Forsaken Shores coming in September.
