The long awaited sequel from THQ Nordic, Darksiders III, has been given a release date and a stunning new trailer to commemorate the announcement. Coming out onto Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, gamers will be able to get their hands on this little beauty from November 27, 2018. This hack-n-slash title is going to be epic, and after watching the trailer you can certainly see why.
Having already walked in the shoes of both Death and War, the series has taken a different path opting to use female protagonist, and third horseman, Fury, Rider of the Black Horse. This means of course that Strife (the fourth and final horseman) will not be the main character, but after seeing just what Fury can do I’m sure fans won’t mind waiting for another game to cover their exploits at a later date.
The story will follow Fury. “The Charred Council calls upon Fury to battle from the heights of heaven down through the depths of hell in a quest to restore the balance between good and evil, and prove that she is the fiercest of the four horsemen. Fury is a mage, her form evolving throughout gameplay and with it, her powers and weaponry”. With this being the case, Fury seems to be a very hands on mage, appearing to opt for close quarters combat above all else.
The trailer shows off Fury’s agility and gymnast-like ability to dodge an enemy’s attack before coming right back to counter with an attack of her own. Her weapons of choice appear to be an extendable whip, an impressive great sword, and as established beforehand, powerful magics. All of which are shown to have their own used both in and out of combat.
Fans of the Darksiders series will be pleased to hear THQ Nordic will not only be releasing a standard edition, but also a Collectors Edition and an Apocalypse Edition, but be warned the Apocalypse Edition will rain Armageddon on your savings! Set for release on November 27, this year, and coming to PlayStation, Xbox One and PC, Darksiders III will be a flashy hack-n-slash game of deathly delights.
